Echoes of The Coast

The setting blended modern minimalism with coastal elements, creating a sophisticated yet inviting ambience defined by understated luxury and culturally rooted details. A collaboration with Chanel set designer Stefan Lubrina elevated the project’s elegant design approach.

Guests were welcomed into a centrally located entrance that linked the majlis and dining room. This area, designed in dusted pinks and soft pastels, featured custom floral wallpaper, a striped ceiling, and a sisal carpet for earthy contrast, with bronze-framed seating niches lining its perimeter.

In the majlis, DLE integrated the venue’s existing gilded ceilings and chandeliers into a cohesive visual language. Rich textiles, reflective shell accents, and ornamental details were layered to convey a modern yet regal sensibility. Rectangular canopies delineated key areas – the kosha, bar, and lounge seating - draped in custom-designed striped and nature-inspired fabrics, embellished with tassels and adorned with a bespoke floral emblem, carried through the event.

Intricate wall treatments alternated between embroidered fabric panels featuring seashell elements and mother-of-pearl finishes achieved through specialized molding techniques. Active fiberglass fountains shaped like shells introduced a sense of flow and tranquility.

A central catwalk with a herringbone weave and aqua effect divided the lounge to form a dance floor, while parquet walkways guided guests through the carpeted areas furnished with neutral-toned sofas, armchairs, and benches accented by patterned pillows.

The bride descended from a balcony, making her way down the stairs wrapped in pearlescent leather, and walked towards the kosha, framed by a regal canopy with an embroidered backdrop of seashells and floral compositions. The bar echoed this theme with mother-of-pearl countertops and circular mirrors encased by oversized sculptural shells.

In the dining room, a ‘box in a box’ concept enveloped the existing ballroom’s coffered white ceiling and chandeliers with new walls. Drawing from countryside mansion aesthetics, layered landscape visuals of window frames, curtains, and cornices created the illusion of expansive windows and added depth to the space.

Striped blue connected the space to the majlis, while beige and peach cotton tablecloths and blue lacquered tabletops were paired with a mix of chair styles—some draped in throws bearing the floral wedding emblem. Wildflower centerpieces reflected the surrounding landscape visuals. Live food stations lined the edges, with a central dessert table serving as the final focal point.
